Berlin Alexanderplatz – or ‘Alex’ for short – has a glitzy history.

In the 1920s, Marlene Dietrich’s voice rasped from the bars and clubs of the square's famed nightclubs.

The area has lost its glamorous edge, but Neptunbrunnen Fountain, the Berlin TV Tower and the Alexa Shopping Centre add zing (and photo ops) to this plain square.
