Casa da Música is the major concert hall in Porto. It was designed by Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas, as part of the event European Capital of Culture Port in 2011. However, the construction was completed only in 2005, immediately becoming an icon of the city. Located near the historic city centre,  the largest avenue of the city and next to another city landmark, the statue representing the joint win of the Portuguese and English against Napoleon.
