Cais de Gaia is a tourist area located on the left bank of the River Douro in Vila Nova de Gaia with lots of restaurants and bars. It is just across from the historic area of Porto, World Heritage of UNESCO. For many centuries, here was where many goods were exported, with special regard to Port wine. The famous Port cellars are all located here where guided tours are organized.
