The Santa Justa Lift, also called Carmo Lift is an elevator in the neighbourhood of Santa Justa, located at the end of Rua de Santa Justa. It connects Baixa area to Bairro Alto. It was built by Raoul de Mesnier du Ponsard, French born in Portugal, an apprentice of Gustave Eiffel, explaining the structure similarities with the Eiffel Tower in Paris
