The station is notorious for its panels of traditional Portuguese tiles, drawn to show important themes in the history of Portugal mainly occurred in the north of the country. They cover an area of ​​about 551 square meters. The tiles were installed between 1905 and 1906 by Jorge Colaço who at that time was stated as the most popular “azulejador” in Portugal.
