The museum was the brainchild of Gabriella Draps, wife of Belgian chocolatier Joseph Draps who founded Godiva Chocolates. The building which houses the museum serves as a chocolate shop, demonstration room and the two upper floors are devoted to the museum. In the museum you can trace the history of chocolate from the discovery by the Aztecs, to the cocoa fields of West Africa and the invention of Belgian praline.
