The Salzburg Museum is housed within the New Residenz in Mozart Square opposite the Residenz; the museum uses modern techniques to display historic artifacts and art and has won several awards. While seeing the museum exhibits you have the opportunity to take in the masterly architecture and decoration of the New Residenz, a former home of the Prince-Archbishops of Salzburg.
