The Seine is a northern river from France that bathes the capital, Paris. This river has an extension of 776 km and flows into the Atlantic Ocean. The source of the Seine river is owned by the city of Paris since 1864, and a year later an artificial cave was built to control the main source.
The Seine rises to 470 meters above the sea level, in the Plateau of Langres, in Côte-d’Or. The course of this river has a general direction to the southeast to the northwest.
